Your pa and mum sound absolutely precious and delightful (and how is it that parents could be SO much the same across oceans and continents?)
You have my full sympathies - I have to combat my teenaged nephew's overtly-loud music-of-a-questionable-taste every single day of my life.
Also, large extended-family gatherings are WIN!
