• oh, harry potter wank, i do still love you. i especially love that obnoxious person going on about how their ship is made up of older people who are busy being ADULTS so they can't possibly find the time to rec 4 fics a month so they really should get special treatment. but the conspiracy theorist implying that they're trying to get rid of their ship to showcase those useless epilogue pairings! shock! is very dear to my heart as well.

• i watched inception. didn't care for it. ngl, i'm kind of butthurt that everyone loved it and is reading and writing fic about it and having fun without me, but it's ok. i'll get over it.

• speaking of hp, i read my first fic in like, months. it's old but whatever, it's goooooood. the boy who lives, by iamshadow harry-centric gen (yeah srsly).

oh my god, every time i think i'm finally done with school paperwork bullshit, someone somewhere either fucks something up, or gives me incorrect information one more time. i'm so sick of it. i just want to enjoy what's left of my vacations without all of this crap constantly looming at me and aaaaaaah. D: and i haven't even started looking for a new place to live yet. D:

took a bunch of hp comms off my flist, or kept them but stopped watching them. i feel good and bad about it at the same time. :/ i think i still feel some remaining guilt for abandoning the fandom like that.

• limit my use of capslock outside of capslock comms HAH FAT CHANCE. i do have to wonder if my abuse of the capslock key (or my liberal use of swearwords... or my erratic punctuation use) bothers people on my flist. thinking about it, i used to be a huge stickler for that kinda stuff but now the only place where i still bother with propercase is fucking FAP and only because they'll boot your ass for not doing it. not like i have been there much, not since i finally got sick of their anal retentive bullshit rules on the fic search forum.

btw speaking of harry potter i've found my spn equivalent to snupin: cas/anna. which is weird since, you know, i like anna and i don't find her even remotely repulsive, but there ye have it. SORRY ANNA. i guess you can just go fuck dean again or something.

and lastly, merlin fandom, ILU, but a) i find myself completely uninterested on your pre-s2 party posts. no offense. and b) i can't decide if the anons' tendency to refer to themselves in the third person on the anonymeme is endearing or just really fucking weird.

are the harmonians shitting themselves all over the internet already? i don't really keep up with them.

• for the past three days i've had a bit of a stuffed nose and slightly inflamed tonsils/raspy throat, which refuse to either get better or get worse. develop into a proper illness or go away, this half-assed wishy-washy ~mild discomfort~ is getting annoying.

• due to recent events i've realized that a lot of times i have problems finding drawn smut sexy. there's always some detail that throws me completely off, or something that triggers my ridiculously random sense of humor. i remember a very praised piece in... oh, maybe that voldemort-centric exchange, can't remember the name, anyway, i had to close the tab i had it on because i started laughing at it and couldn't stop.
likewise with pieces that are supposed to be deep and serious and angsty. it happens less often, but i swear, it's like laughing in the middle of a funeral. only animated pieces seem to do this. i think it's the combination with the dramatic music and words (even worse if it has a swirly cursive font) that kills me, i can't take it. it's like fanvids. it's equal parts cringing embarrassment (of myself or the artist, i'm not sure) and inexplicable hilarity.

i don't know if this means i'm emotionally retarded or what. ahaha. :/

• i have a long list of music artists to check out. i'm happy (about this one thing, at least). some of them aren't even what i'm usually into.

the exchange is pretty relaxed, non-anonymous and your gift can be between 1000-3000 words long (but i guess you can write an epic if you want to!). the requests are pretty varied, from fluff to angst and au and smut and everything in between. you sign up and leave your 3 requests/prompts, and when claims open someone will reply to your post and let you know they've picked one of your prompts. i totally loved the gift i got last year, so much i made a fool out of myself leaving the most embarrassingly gushy and long-winded comment ever.

you have some time to consider it, sign ups open in november. ;p

i picked this video because i thought it was cute. the typewriter sounds and laughs are a bit annoying though.

i have this weird thing when i get into a fandom: i latch onto one or two pairings that absorb most of my attention (see: link/sheik in zelda, 1x2 in gundam, etc) and rarely read anything else, because i can't read an entire long story outside those ships without losing interest. specially if they involve one half of my preferred ships. case in point: someone's reccing remus/draco at crack_broom and most of the summaries sound actually interesting but i won't read any of them because i know i'll get bored halfway through the fic, no matter how good. besides most of the r/d stuff i see uses the "draco could have been/was turned into a werewolf and remus has to protect him" and i'm like ftlog get a new plot already.

i don't know how the multi-shippers do it. oh, well. at least it saves me some online time.

speaking of crack_broom, i'd love to sign up again to rec james/regulus, but trying to write the recs for the r/s fics i did was like trying to draw blood from a stone, so i think i'll leave it to someone else. why must i suck so bad at writing that i can't even write a tiny blurb without agonizing over it for days?


ugh, now i have to go do my rs_prophet edition. it's starting to feel more and more like a chore instead of something i do out of enjoyment. and i've been so tired this week that i'm not in the mood to read fic. but there's just saraannette and me, and i don't want to make her slog through a week's worth of material. ergergergerg.
