actually, i've no problem with person-specific exchanges. they're nearly the only kind i've done, and i've enjoyed them. rs_small_gifts is sort of half-and-half, the sign up is done in the traditional style of anon exchanges, only you go and pick your own person. that was my first fest experience and it sort of eased the way for the rest, so to speak. i did hp_yule_balls and (after a bit of deadline-related hesitation) i'm feeling pretty confident with hp_springsmut. besides there's the added fact that i love drawing for people.

competitions... well, they're a totally different thing. i'd be willing to give them a shot in the future, but right now i still feel like the "awkward new kid at school" in the harry/draco fandom.
