my camelotsolstice gift! oh how much i love thee, let me count the ways. battle!fic! blood and hacking and slashing! brain-washed peasant army! with a young king arthur struggling to adapt to his new position as such and a merlin who stays beside him every step of the way. i should also note that it indulged my undressing!kink in a most wonderful way. :D really, my rec doesn't do it justice, so just read it.

• days of old and days to be, merlin/arthur, background gwen/lancelot, r. Regency AU in which Arthur is the darling of the ton, Merlin is still a terrible valet, Mordred is a radical rabble-rouser, and Gwen's in love with a Light Dragoon.
i'm not much for AU in this fandom, but this fic totally won me over. there's a lot of attention to detail and the characters, especially morgana, are all fantastically written.



• i have a terrible influence over 22by7. she's drawn me cas & dean doing some reading inspired by my sam & cas pic, and LOL THIS after pondering which other marks cas could have left on dean after pulling him from hell.

• worst double date ever, also by 22by7, dean/cas and implied sam/gabriel (!!!). in which it's discovered that cas accidentally burned down the great library of alexandria. no really.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE. now, watch me as i try to convert all of you via fic recs. i haven't found any yet that has gabriel messing with sam canon style (that is, with lots of pain and assholery), but i enjoyed these a lot anyway.

*MAKES INCOHERENT NOISES OF GLEE* gabriel harrasses sam via text messages. except it's not harrassment anymore when sam starts to text back. there are photos from space involved and discussions about the secret and yet obvious love story of dean and castiel. and ninjas. oh god what is it with me and angels and cellphones?? THEY ARE SUCH A MAGICAL COMBINATION.

• demonstrations by entangled_now, r. background dean/castiel. "Let's just say, your brother and my brother are taking care of all that post-battle adrenaline."
in which sam erroneously thinks angels aren't very good at sex and is proven wrong. XD

• trinkets and trifles by ameonna1, pg. gabriel secretly leaves silly gifts for sam in his bags and his pockets. :D

oh, this is my favorite of the deancas_xmas so far. i loved dean's attempt at a christmas celebration in the middle of the apocalypse and trying to convince himself to ask cas to spend christmas with him and sam, the sam & dean banter, the sweetly intense and slow development of the dean/cas relationship, and cas making it snow for dean and getting distracted during sex. :D

i would love to rec thing from this fest, but i am so behind already, i need to catch up. D:
