i'm not much for AU in this fandom, but this fic totally won me over. there's a lot of attention to detail and the characters, especially morgana, are all fantastically written.

oh man this fic. this fucking fic. it's when revenge and plotting go utterly, irrevocably wrong. i loved ginny on this, she was so painful. as was albus, especially albus, despite having only a minor role in the fic.

you know how i always say that i find teddy/james so boring right? well, if there's one thing this fic isn't, it's boring. mostly because it contains an (un)healthy does of dysfunctional potters which directly affects james, who is in the role of care-taker of his disintegrating family, and his relationship with teddy, who is just fucked up. and it's not until near the end when you find out just how fucked up james himself is.

ok. i really want to write a decent rec for this but i can't and several other people have already said everything i wanted to say about it. it does contain my fucked up next-gen characters kink, esp. teddy, who is an emotionally immature brat at his mid twenties, but unlike the other two, it does have a happy ending. i have seen people complaining about some non-canon details (teddy not being a metamorphmagus, albus's eye color) but they're such an unimportant part of the major plot that they can be easily glossed over. they didn't bother *me*, at least.

• and finally, an artist rec: dvervzimu. lovely traditional art, with sweet and elegant-looking characters. some images feel very children's book illustrations with a sprinkling of shojo manga, while some others feel more grown-up (in both subject and style). contains a variety of characters, mostly harry, draco and snape.

my hp_springsmut fic was posted today: stakeout, it's harry/teddy and nc-17, om nom nom. upon reading the title i feared it might be an auror!fic, or have auror!teddy in it, but then i remembered that midnitemaraud_r said no auror!fic for me, so yay! i went in and read, and I LOVED IT. it's narrated from the point of view of albus s. and it's hysterical and still manages to paint a super-hot picture of the pairing in question. t's explanation for why he wants to have sex with h. is so absurd and funny and they're both so awkward about getting anywhere at first and oh, just go read the fic already. i have some ideas about who the author might be, but i'd rather wait until the reveals instead of speculating!

edit: now i'll be sitting here biting my nails until my art is posted. so nervous! i hope my recipient likes it.

• i installed objectdock yesterday! i haven't gotten very far with the customization yet, but i like how it looks so far.
