today i went for a swim again (i long to do dorky handstands and swim underwater, but i fear it might mess up my blue, even with the swimming cap on) and after that i went to visit my cousin, since she wanted me to help her beat the last chapter in paper mario (GC version!)

and she had a surprise gift for me!






it is so tiny and adorable!!


and thanks to her great help, i now have the classic super mario bros. theme as a ringtone and the super mario world opening theme to alert me of new text messages.

i am floating in a mario-shaped cloud of happiness! :D :D
 
 

i logged in to my dA fanart account only to find out that someone had stolen my art and reposted on their own gallery. i'm not naive enough to think this is the only time something like this has happened, but it's the first time someone has brought it to my attention.

seriously, how fucking stupid do you have to be to steal art from someone who's a) in the same website as you and b) is well enough known that someone WILL recognize their artwork if they see it somewhere else?

and of course there was the genius who used some of my art to make a fanvid, posted it on youtube and only THEN thought about asking me for permission to use it. *headdesk* i let her because i'm usually pretty lenient about art usage, and hey, at least she credited, but... god. common sense! where have you gone! i did give her a sternly-worded reply advising her to, you know, ASK FIRST.

and the requests for gift art from complete strangers, and the "ewww yaoi is liek gross" people, and the chain letters (i don't put up with that shit from my friends, what makes you think i'll take it from some random internet idiot?), the "hay i drew this" spam, the etc etc.

i swear, the amount of stupid on dA greatly surpasses that of LJ. it's no wonder i'm getting bored of the place. i don't even do much in that site anymore. at times i completely forget to submit stuff that i've had on LJ and y!gallery for months.

this post was much, much longer, detailing why exactly i'm getting bored of dA, but i decided that keeping it short was for the best. :p
