i used to love it, then i was apathetic and now i get vaguely annoyed whenever i read a fic in which cas has visible feathery bird wings.
i still like non-traditional angel "wings" (which i tend to picture as... idk, flares of light/energy rather than smth with a defined shape) but those aren't really conductive to wingfic, heh
Yeah, not a fan of wingfic, either. Unless, it's, you know, really hot, really well-written PWP, but then again, if it's hot and well-written, I'll probably read Jabba the Hut porn, so...
Yeah, I prefer the multidimensional wings, too. :)
i was going to say "i'd rather dean gets the wings" but then i realized i've read a couple of those fics and the wings were ~manifestations of his soul/grace~ and i was like :|
hahah now i'm imagining a scenario in which he gets cursed with totally-non-angelic-in-nature wings and castiel (who *doesn't* have birdly wings of any sort) finds them weirdly hot.
This (http://i55.tinypic.com/2moo96u.jpg) is the only exception to my none-existent wing!kink. But, then again, the wings are the least important thing about that pic...
now that i think about it (thanks for reminding me!) the wing thing only really applies to fic. i'm fine with them in art. i don't LOVE them (unless they are really awesome) but i don't dislike them either
i once read a d/c once in which dean grew wings (more like, exploded from his back in all their gore-covered glory) and they were some kind of monster wings with like, claws and stuff. i'd read more of that one.
I once bought a videogame based on five seconds in the intro where one of the characters had wings before getting them ripped off and thrown into (the vampire equivalent of) acid:
I KIND OF WANT TO BRING THESE HAPPY TIMES INTO SUPERNATURAL. Largely because that rash decision turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life, that videogame series was awesome.
I bought the very first game based solely on Simon Templeman's voice and bought every game in the series after that. I don't think I will love any other game the way I loved that.
By the way, you do realise you hold a dangerous weapon now, namely the key to my heart, because I am physically incapable of disliking anyone who likes the Legacy of Kain series, and if you ever write even, like, a drabble for it, my soul will explode in flames and joy.
I still watch out for all the other voice actors in the series to see what they're up to. It made Dragon Age: Origins very hard because HOW WAS I MEANT TO KILL KAIN'S VOICE, HOW?
Meeting Janos Audron Rene Auberjonois = the best moment of my life, ever, except possibly the Christmas I got Soul Reaver, or when Muse started playing Map of the Problematique when I saw them in September.
There are games that I adore forever - Digital Devil Saga, Legacy of Kain, Monkey Island, Final Fantasy 7, Devil May Cry, Silent Hill... - but Soul Reaver and The Secret of Monkey Island are both sacred to me.
And as much as Secret of Monkey Island is technically my best game and most important game of all time... it's still Soul Reaver that I would save in a fire where every other videogame in the world blew up.
I could have sworn I mentioned loving the series before? My copy of Blood Omen is cracked and brittle and I'm so afraid it will break one day :( I used to be able to quote huge great swathes of Blood Omen and Soul Reaver, the voices were always so bloody epic. And the plot was terrifying but I played it so many times I think I actually managed to hold it all in once.
Also, I so very nearly wrote you some Legacy of Kain for the Five Acts meme, but my brain seems to be taking this hiatus seriously. FAIL! /o\ But, yes, Simon Templeman, Rene Auberjonois, damn it...Michael Bell. I would have to save all the games from a fire.
