i would be around more if any of the fandoms i'm into at the moment had any real presence on lj (or even dw)... but they don't.

There's really nothing much happening at the fandoms I'm into, so if anything new happens at LJ, someone's bound to post about it on Tumblr, anyway, so I guess Tumblr's the place to be.

Meh. I still check my flist and post longer stuff on my LJ but I don't think anyone's reading it. I guess we've all moved on. (NGL, I miss the old days, as much as I enjoy tumblr and twitter.)

I mean, I still read most of the posts in my f-list and comment when I could, but I guess I've moved away from the fandom that was the primary reason I use LJ and there wasn't much point anymore. But I do miss the comment threads. I guess I'm a bit of an old fogey, but tumblr is really graphic/art based and there's not much room or time for talking and I miss that.

Totally agree about the comment threads - that what I miss too. I don't mind so much about moving elsewhere but I do wish things were still discussed. Tumblr's system seems inherently passive-aggressive to me (like, the fact that you can't reply directly to someone by default), and Twitter is too transient. :(

(and hello I've always wanted to talk to you but never could ^^;)

(Hello! It's really nice to meet you and also humbling because there's an implication there that I'm scary and really I'm not, haha.)

And even when you can comment on something, you have to keep well within the 250-character maximum. :P Idk, it seems unwieldy to reblog a picture that's already in your blog just so you can reply to a comment. I guess the way Tumblr is set up, you're not really supposed to have a long, thoughtful conversation without cluttering everyone's dashboard. :P
I don't have a twitter account because until now I still couldn't figure it out. >.>
