what

i typed up a pathetically long-winded and angry rant that started as one sentence about me being grossed out by completely innocent remus/tonks fanart and evolved into another of my typical late-night rambles, this time about personal squicks in fic and art and irrational pairing hate (oh, so much hate) that also ended up involving zelda and gundam wing. i saved it because i get a sick kick out of insulting fictional characters and pairings, but i don't think i'll post it, because it's a bit ridiculous really.

but still, lol @ me for not having anything better to do with my time.

i'm laughing so much at the idea of drunk!remus. poor man. [livejournal.com profile] fera_festiva said in her chapter-by-chapter DH "analysis" (i reccomend it. there's much lulz to be had) that remus was perpetually drunk throughout the book, and it makes sense, really.

It was just to make Teddy a mini-Lupin (because of the name) and a mini-TOnks (the metamogsthing) so the fans wouldn't feel so bad.

yeah, i think that's it. that and to say "see? he was just so worried but his baby ended up being extra-special!! it was stupid and wrong to worry!", etc.

i'm also having fun at our combined butchering of the word metamufuglasg.

well, you could say that he was leaving her for other reasons and the werewolf angst was just a convincing excuse, but that's too fanwanky i think.

it just gets me because, come ON, if it *was* hereditary, it would have been mentioned somewhere! means of transmission of a disease is basic information! specially with one as bad and well-known as this one. the way i read it, it just sounded that remus just had no idea, not that he *knew* there was a chance it could happen because, i don't know, he read it somewhere, or something. how can that kind of information just... not exist?

the stupidity of it just frustrates me so much. we're told that it's *only* transmitted by a bite, and then out of nowhere OH HEY MAYBE NOT!

augh.

if you write the essay, i hope you don't get flamed too much. XD i saw on your LJ that you took a beating with the one you wrote about the symbolism in the final battle. :D

haha that "analysis" rocks! She makes a lot of good points in a very funny way. (I'm especially adoring her Star Wars references!)

hmmm if you take it EVEN FURTHER (*gasp* daring, I know)... JKR is telling kids "don't worry about STDs and such... you'll get to have extra cool babies!"

I highly doubt Remus would ever use the werewolf issues to cover something else. He wants too much to be seen as normal that he would go out of his way to find an excuse NOT dealing with the werewolf stuff.

I know! And it can't be that there's never been that kind of situation before. I'm sure that in the entire history of werewolves there must have been at least ONE horny guy unable to keep it in his pants. Unless it's all just a conspiracy to make werewolves believe they can pass it on so that they don't start breeding or whatever.

I'll probably get some backlash, but oh well. I'd expect it of a Remus/Tonks issue. The last essay wasn't so much a 'beating' as it was people getting defensive about Snape and me getting frustrated. I'll take on Remus/Tonks flamers... but I don't think I'll ever touch snape again with a ten foot pole! :)

oh and just for fun:

and even then it wouldn't work, you'd still have the greyback-types that either don't give a crap about infecting anyone or do it on purpose.

but I don't think I'll ever touch snape again with a ten foot pole! :)

oh, i hope you don't touch him. grease is kind of hard to clean off. okay, enough lame jokes. but yeah. sensitive subject, hahah. seems like you can't say anything bad about him without someone jumping at you to "defend" him. okaaay.

True. But now you've given me the image of Greyback in the type of situation that would result in a baby. EWWW. *scrubs brain*

You know, I kinda miss the old days... when Snape was just a greasy bastard who you weren't sure which side he was on. Oh the simplicity of that. You could make negative statements and people who disagreed would actually make intellegent discussions about it.

(You totally win A GAZILLIONBILLION points!!! HAHAHAHA)

sorry, sorry! :D

i totally don't get misunderstood heroic woobie!snape. or fanon snape in general.

(haha thankyou ;))
