I hate how superficial they consider Lily, as well. I mean, would anyone really want to marry someone who called them the wizarding equivalent of a very heavy racial slur?

By coincidence I rewatched HBP last night, and it re-awakened feelings I thought I had moved on from. FFS Remus/Tonks WHY, WHAT WAS THE POINT, WHAT A STUPID FUCKING PAIRING

IDK, I actually thought it was more bearable in the movie. Tonks doesn't wangst at all and she doesn't ~lose her powers~ (she does have shit hair, but that's because the costume people gave her a mullet for some reason). She calls Remus "sweetheart" and that's more or less it. I still don't like it, but it didn't make me want to brick in a window. (Or maybe by the time of the HBP movie I'd just stopped caring, IDK.)

I'm surprisingly secure enough in my R/S shipping to not mind that other pairings involving them exist (because, I mean, we all know who they really love), but I will nevernevernever understand people who ship Snape/Lily. He was a jerk to her friends! He called her a racial slur! He didn't care that her husband and probably her child would die for him to have her! OMG SO ROMANTIC!!!!!!!!

And Jesus wept, I really don't know about people who like Snape. Sure, he turned out to be a useful guy--but I don't get how some people think that his love for Lily is even romantic. He chose his Death Eater friends over her and realised belatedly what he had given away. James is stupid prat, but he tried to 'improve' himself to get Lily's approval. Snape simply didn't care. :| It's probably just me, but I find that Snape fans are just too bloody unpleasant. I try not to talk to 'em too much.
