well, reason n. 1: i don't like snape and remus is one of my favorites. you can see how that one would work out. besides, snape should never have sex. with anyone. ever. also, the horrible bashing of sirius and james, you know, remus's two best friends who accept him as one of them, furry little problem included? remus would never ditch his first, best friends, who, by the way, do not beat him, ignore him, belittle him or SEXUALLY ABUSE HIM OR SNAPE IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, GODDAMMIT, SO JUST STOP ALREADY unlike snape, who doesn't even seem to respect or treat remus like a fellow human being, feels nothing but contempt for him and is vindictive enough to cause him to lose his job, wanted to send the last of his friends to his death, helped get his other two friends killed by revealing the prophecy to voldemort (and don't boo hoo to me about it, he knew exactly what he was doing at that moment), only helps him because he's forced to? and on the other side we have remus, who is indifferent to him at best. unf unf baby, sign me up. you know, i love me some h/d and all, but considering remus and snape's common history, there's only so far you can extend the "hate turns into love" thing and make it believable, particularly when one half of the pairing doesn't even care enough about the other to even hate them.
and i hate to think remus would be enough of a bastard to shit on his friends' memories by getting together with snape. just, no. i can't even consider it without working myself up to a ball of fury.

Who is someone you know that ships #14? (Harry/Sirius)

uhmmhmhmmmm i haven't the slightest, i know melusinahp has written fic for it, but i've no idea if she ships them for real. i don't mind if no one does, really, seeing as my curiosity for it could be considered train-wreck syndrome and i hate the ship myself like 99% of the time. in fact, melusina's fic is one of the three harry/sirius fics i've read that didn't send me running for the hills.

What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3? (James/Regulus)

:[ another long answer. um, well, firstly, james never got together with lily (because i'd hate to break them up, but i like the idea of her joining the order on her own anyway) and has had a on-and-off thing with reg since school which both of them refuse to consider as something actually serious because they're idiot boys in denial (specially james who insists that he's straight, really). when they leave school they decide to end it and reg becomes a death eater, but they keep finding each other in fights and missions and etc and in the end their ~lurve~ can't be denied so they start meeting up again in secret and having angsty sex and they fight a lot until james convinces reg to spy for the order. he gives the order info about the horcruxes and might or might not end up doing the whole locket thingy, but if he did i'm sure he and james could come up with a way to retrieve the locket without ending up as inferi bait. and if peter ends up spying he'd give them that info as well.

obvs, james eventually tells sirius that he and reg are together and sirius would flip a shit but would calm down soon because remus would refuse to have sex with him until he did james is his bff and reg is his little baby brother and having them together is better that losing reg to the death eaters.

they (r/s, reg/james, peter if he hasn't gone bad, idc really) hunt down the rest of the horcruxes, destroy them, kill voldy (i will ignore the hallows because they're a shitty plot device) and they live happily ever after etc etc.

Which is your favorite moment for couple #1? (Remus/Sirius)

canon moment, i assume. well, the shack scene obviously. it's been, what, six years since i read PoA and that's one of the parts i can remember the best. and shipping them together didn't even cross my mind back then.

How long have you been following couple #6? (Billy/Rebecca)

um, since i played the game two years ago. i can't say i ship them actively, but they're another apparently mis-matched couple who end up complementing each other nicely. i mean, newbie cop child prodigy rebecca, a tiny girl of eighteen who only *looks* fragile, and billy, the bitter 26-year-old ex-soldier escaping from a death sentence for murders he witnessed directly, but didn't commit (um, so he's pretty much a muggle sirius? he even has the black hair and light eyes), who has a bad attitude but finds time to flirt with rebecca in the middle of a zombie-infested train? hell yeah! and, as demonstrated by the game itself, they make a fantastic team. there's a lot of potential for angst and deadly conspiracies and zombie-killing, especially if you go for a reunion years after the game AND bring the other RE characters (games i haven't played, sadly) into it.

ps. when i uploaded the billy pic on tinypic, the "tinyfx" banner centered on billy's crotch, and the sample effects gave me many lols. floaty hearts! fire! EARTHQUAKE!!

What's the story with #8? (Harry/Ginny) What made you stop liking them/caring?

i wouldn't say i totally *liked* it, but before my foray into HP fandom (meaning post- HBP and pre-DH) i accepted it and it didn't bother me. but the fic i found did nothing to spark a real interest, and i soon found pairings i liked more, for both of them.

in DH, i saw nothing worth rooting for. JKR just didn't sold me on the relationship, it didn't feel genuine, it felt kind of forced and pointless and irrelevant. and with the way ginny got shunted off to the side in the last book... yawn. and suddenly BAM they're two married middle-aged people i barely recognize and they have three badly-named kids i couldn't give a shit about. yeah, okay.

i'm sure H/G is lovely and beautiful and meaningful in JKR's head, but i fear it didn't translate that clearly to paper.

You have the power to make one ship non existent. Choose from #10 (Link/Zelda) or #12 (Remus/Tonks).

oh, man, i don't even have to think this one. R/T for sure. first, i'm not really active on the zelda fandom, so i've stopped caring about ships for the most part (except when i get flamed for making Sheik a male).
second, L/Z hasn't stomped all over the character's personalities (read: hasn't turned the strong, wise princess into a moping emo wreck desperate to have her man lurve her back and hasn't turned the brave, kind hero into a spineless, depressed drunk) and ruined them just to shove them together to give harry a rainbow-colored godson i felt nothing for (and i honestly don't see what the fandom loves so much about him-- well, except for when he turns out gay like his old man, and even then i'm not *that* interested), and then kill them off just so harry can be A Better Godfather Than Sirius.
third, L/Z isn't canon in the strict sense of the term (and even if one game made them canon, that's only *one* of all the links and zeldas of all the different games), even if most fans will swear up and down that it is.
fourth, if it ever became canon, it would have much more evidence to back it than R/T who, honestly, had nothing that could have been seriously called "evidence" before HBP.
fifth, L/Z has a place among the classics of game pairings, whether it's canon or not, and R/T isn't a classic of anything. maybe in 20 years it will be among the classics of crap pairings that should have never had happened. whatever, man. i'm even starting to convince myself to ship L/Z now.

well, both are very cool ships, but i'd have to say H/D, simply because I like slash more than het, it has more conflict, i only have to deal with R/T peripherally if I want to read canon-compliant stuff and there's just so much more of it.

What interests you about #15? (Midna/Zelda)

uh, i don't know. it just seems sweet. yeah, that's my one reason. i'm not much of a femmeslasher, really.

Why did you stop liking #7? (Trowa/Quatre)

when i realized that i only liked it because everyone else liked it. uh, and that trowa is sort of not attractive with his stupid hair, and that quatre looks like a 10-year-old.

Did your waning interest in #9 (Link/Malon) kill your interest in the show?

game, not show. not really, i only liked L/M because I thought malon was prettier than zelda and you could actually visit her and interact more with her. *g* and i liked the bit where that gossip stone said that malon wanted to be swept off her feet by a hero on a horse or something like that, and i was like, hey, link fits the bill pretty well. eventually i dumped L/M for Link/Sheik, but i still have a fondness for it.

What’s a song that reminds you of #5 (Link/Sheik)?

jeez, i don't know, the bolero of fire? cause they totally had a ~moment~ on that bridge.
or, idk, the requiem of spirit too, because i like that after they finish playing link tries to get closer to sheik and sheik takes a step back and link is like omg don't go! i got sand in my eye! and then sheik is gone. :[

If you could have any of these two pairings double-date, who would it be?

i don't know, billy/rebecca and remus/sirius? i think becky, being a medic/scientist, would be interested in learning about lycanthropy and magic, and she and remus could chat and be adorable together, while billy and sirius trade tales about PTSD and being wrongfully imprisoned and bitch about the corrupt government and, idk, they could have a beer-chugging competition or something, and becky and remus would roll their eyes at them and drink tea.

link/zelda and harry/draco would make another good choice, i mean, harry really needs tips on how to be a competent hero and how to defeat megalomaniac evil guys with style, and link is the best person to give them to him. meanwhile, draco and zelda would... roll their eyes at them and drink tea? well, i don't know, draco wouldn't think link and zelda are below him (which is a definite plus), since they're magic users and zelda is royalty, she could show draco around her castle and impress him and i think they could have a good civilized conversation. i guess.

oy, this one's difficult. but i'll say remus/snape, because i can put up with some of the R/T in my R/S and other fics and i can tolerate some light sirius/james if it's just messing around before sirius gets together with remus and james with lily or reg, but i can't tolerate remus/snape under any circumstances.

Which of these ships do you love the most?

remus/sirius, easily. it's not only because of who they are and how perfectly imperfect they are together, but because this is the first couple i've shipped where the characters really know each other, have real love for each other (even platonic) and such a wealth of common history, and the sheer potential for stories and interpretations and art, and discovering this pairing has been a wonderful experience, so unlike all my past and present ships in any other fandom. these two characters really seem to come alive much more than any others (which means they've made me suffer so much more, as well) and thanks to my involvement with it i've met some great, talented people. i've never been on such a big fandom before (i never got to experience the gundam wing fandom in full and the zelda fandom, while big, seems so disperse) and it's been amazing to me.
