- i am actually learning to cook now that i have to fend off by myself. it's pretty bitchin' and there is no risk of starting a fire since the stove is electric. XD the best part? there is nowhere around to witness my fail. my menu for the rest of the week is thus:

wednesday: pasta with mushroom sauce (my mushroom sauce is admittedly awesome)
thursday: tomatican with rice
friday: pastel de papas (no to the raisins and olives though- gross)

of course, the recipes my mama taught me are slightly different, but they're basically the same thing.

i have my first school assignment of the year and i'm already slacking off and wishing the semester would end already. wooooo.


had a scare with my keyboard earler- the keys either wouldn't respond at all unless i stabbed the shit out of them (and that only worked about a 70% of the time), or they typed double letters/spaces at the slightest pressure. my capslock key was like, inverted (having it switched off made everything come out in uppercase and vice versa) and random numbers typed themselves into what i was writing. i was starting to worry that i'd have to buy another one but i restarted the computer and it went back to normal. :s at least some people at f!s got a lol out of the results of my typing.

* so i've been reading quite a bit of jensen/misha lately (i have one foot in the grave ship already, fffff) but dammit i end up hating 2 out of every 3 fics i read. it's harry/sirius all over again. no, i'm not asking for recs (chances are i've read everything there is to read already), i just want to whine.

* i had the most awesome convo with cloudyjenn on twatter last night. we successfully crossed over supernatural and mario. keep your peepers open for peach!cas fanart.

* what's a good free antivirus? or barring that, a safe download link for a non-free one? i needs it. i just got rid of the one i had installed on the netbook because it was driving me mad with rage.

* i should be on my way back to santiago already. instead, i'm sitting on my ass in my pjs updating lj. dammit.

* thanks to the fanart i posted last night, i now ship amaterasu/wolf!link. except without the creepy dog porn. come on, look at them, it's adorable. issun can perv on midna and she can step on him and grind him into the floor with her heel. AWESOME.

i've heard there's an add-on for firefox that lets you block individual lj users' comments. does it really exist?

* so i totally failed at fixing my computer on my own because i'm a goddamn coward. i'm having a friend coming over this sunday so he can do it for me instead.

* since i'm cut off from my computer, i don't have access to any of my music. so i've been listening to this on repeat since yesterday.

* i got my hair cut and dyed. i'm not thrilled with the color (it's more reddish/burgundy than purple), but i'll live. i also indulged my inner consumist and bought clothes and an adorable pair of silver angel wing earrings. and bracelets, because i'm addicted.

* i had to pimp this: walk_ofshame. feeling inspired to write/draw something after watching the newest spn episode? then post it here. all pairings/characters/ratings welcome. the only condition is that your fic/art has to be directly inspired by that week's episode. and speaking of pimping, i have brought gryffindor_j to the dark side and made her write me dean/cas phone!sex.

* speaking of spn, i got crack_impala'd! that made me ridiculously happy.


well, i have nothing else to say. hrrrmmm.

EDIT: wait! i do. i am endeavoring to lose weight from here to december. i'm at 60kg/132lb and i want to go down to 55kg/~120lb. it doesn't seem like much, but i'm lazy and i love junk food way too much. oh well, gotta make the attempt, at least. wish me luck!

my computer decided to give me a resounding "fuck you" and die on me for the 3rd time this year. i have the worst luck with computers ever. i'm hoping to get it fixed tonight so i can write my art theory paper and watch spn. not necessarily in that order. in the meantime, i'm stuck with a laptop. those who were around for my last computer fuck-up know how excited i am about it.

i've finished with my hp_toujours sketch, i hope my recipient likes it. i'm kind of rusty, i've had a really hard time drawing simple poses and characters i'm well familiar with. i can't even remember what my rs_games prompt is. i seriously need to get on top of that soonish.

i want to get cracking on my bigbangblackout art later this week (hi mindabbles!), ugh, i'm so scattered i want to draw like 5 things at once. i have been chatting at length with red_squared about the sordid business of modding BBB and a bit with gryffindor_j about assignments.

i'm also making progress on the "art book" i'm putting together... okay, so it only has 8 pages at the moment. but that's 4 more than it had yesterday! i should draw bigger. :/ i'm only making one edition because i don't know if i could take it to a copy center without dying of shame.

in other news, i had to get a facebook account. i feel dirty.

so i finally decided to use dreamwidth and import my entries there. i wanted to have a private back-up, like the stuff lj archive does for you, only online. no one can see it but me.

however, since i'm a fucking moron, i forgot to set the default security setting to "private" so all my public posts were imported as public. and since i can't neither delete everything at once, or make everything private at once, i have to go through 2 and a half year's worth of posts and edit each post by hand.

and i was eating dinner (well, la once rather than dinner: chilean version of british afternoon tea, only... later. okay, "the more you know" moment over) earlier with my mom and youngest sister and suddenly i choked on my tea and bread. after a minute of coughing my lungs out, i grabbed a napkin to wipe my eyes. then i blew my nose and chunks of chewed-up, soggy bread came out of it. :| EWWWWW

so, since i'm considering changing my username, i went to see the list of available names lj has. every single name i tried was unavailable... but when i typed the full lj address, it said the user didn't exist. would that mean i could rename my lj to the non-existent name, even if lj tells me it's not available? why would it even be unavailable when it's not being used by anyone?

is it just me or is this pingback thing completely useless? the only notifications it sends is when i link to my own posts. which is stupid, if you think about it. am i doing something wrong?

• i miss my computer. :[ problem might be more serious than anticipated. i will be very annoyed if my (new!!) harddrive turns out to be fried, but luckily i backed up my artwork and other important files a few weeks ago. losing my music will hurt, i have around 2gb of it in my mp3 player so i won't lose *everything*, but that's only a fraction of the total. anyway, at the moment i'm just annoyed because i can't work on my hp_springsmut assignment or on my other digital art.

• i've (still) been eyeing the hd_worldcup sign-up post but i haven't decided because i'm a coward. or not really, i just can't decide if i'd like to participate or have that free time to work on whatever i want at whatever speed i want. if i do end signing up it will be a very last-minute thing.

• i found half a dead bird under the staircase. am currently glaring at cat. still haven't found the other half. :│

why did i think i would have NO problems whatsoever with the new computer? and with the two most important things: the scanner installation and photoshop. on the last day of my small_gifts extension. i think i tried to install the damn thing 7 times before giving up and taking it upstairs so i could connect it to my sister's computer and scan the drawing there. i tried with the cd, and i downloaded the drivers. twice. my cousin was supposed to burn photoshop on a cd for me (mine was so scratched it couldn't even be read), but he never got in touch with me. i even got infected with a couple of trojans, no doubt from all the crap i downloaded and dubious websites i visited in a panic. thankfully my sister had cs3 in a portable version, but it crashes every time i tried to use the save for web option. and it's in spanish. i've been using the english versions since i started using photoshop in 2003, i still can't get used to using it in my own language.

anyway, it's done and posted. i hope i can fix the scanner problem soon because i don't want to beg my sister to use her computer every time i want to scan something. and i have a ton of things to scan.

so i'm doing the email management thingy to remove an old hotmail address i was using with this lj before the current gmail one. however, it's not letting me select the old account to delete it.

can anyone explain in really small words what this long-ass sentence means? i've re-read it like 10 times and it's like my brain's english-to-spanish translator shuts down every time i try to make sense of it.

This page only lets you remove e-mail addresses that were used after the first time you used the e-mail address your account is currently validated with.

i actually went and deleted that hotmail address a few days ago. does that have anything to do with it?

does anyone know why exactly a computer would start rebooting itself without any prompting from me?

technomology question: i was typing a reply to a post earlier and my keyboard went all weird, like... i tried to type a > and it gave me a / instead (the > was nowhere to be found, same with the '). the letters and numbers were normal, but the symbols were all switched around. I tried disconnecting and reconfiguring the keyboard, but the only thing that fixed it was rebooting the computer.

OK, my IJ looks seriously boring and gross. I spent like 30 minutes on it, but it didn't change much. I can't even put an image in the background. Are free accounts made of so much fail that I can't even do that, or am I just being totally internet-retarded?

It's not like I use it, or anything. but it's still annoying.

so I finally caved in and made my gmail address my main email account. The comment notifications mess got tiring. At least that's solved now.
The only bad thing is that Windows Live Messenger doesn't notify me when I get new mail. Weird. Does that only work if you use a Hotmail account as a Windows Live ID, or am I doing something wrong?
